Product Reviews
Izziwotnot's Bailey Sleigh cot-bed isn't cheap, but it is elegant and well-constructed. It's easy to put together however, it requires two people. It looks beautiful in any nursery. The panel we tested loved the dark wood and the dowel sides, and it's sturdy enough to be used until your baby is a toddler. It also complies with British safety standards - the depth isn't too deep that your child could climb out and the distance between the slats shouldn't be more than 65mm, which will prevent the head from getting stuck. It is also necessary to buy a mattress, that costs an additional PS88.
The sleigh-shaped cot is really beautiful and makes it stand out from other cots. It is also very easy to get your baby inside and out, which is another big plus. It's a bit more expensive than other cots however, our panel of experts thought it was worth the cost for its appearance and durability.
The cot bed is available in two different walnut or country pine finishes and is suitable from birth. It includes three mattress heights, so that you can start off your baby high to make it easier for them to be accessed at night or during the day. Then lower it as they grow older. It has teething rails that safeguard your child's furniture and gums. Once your child grows out of their cot, you can easily convert it into a junior mattress and then to a couch.
The westport design from Silver Cross is another cot that feels substantial and is designed to last. It can be used as a cot starting at birth, then later as an infant bed, and then to become a junior bed (toddler guard rails are sold separately). It was a bit difficult for our panel members to convert the cot into a bed, but their other halves said it was easy and took less than 5 minutes. It's a bit more expensive than other models, but you'll want to keep it for your children as they grow up.
