World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved following a reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in various ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Utilizing Glyphs Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items lets players increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is also known as "upping". When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This can be a disadvantage, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't require it.

When an item level upgrade is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value. Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses listed above.
