Lightweight Single StrollerTravel strollers aren't any lighter or more compact than this. Its sleek design is simple to fold into a neat rectangle shape and the wheels rotate more smoothly than other designs.
It also has an under-seat storage space and an adjustable shoulder strap that makes it easy to carry around when you're not pushing it. But the canopy adjustment can cause a lot of noise, which can wake a sleepy toddler.
1. Contours Itsy
A compact stroller The Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its
small single stroller size. Its back under-seat basket is spring loaded, meaning that you can lower it to store a diaper bag or backpack in and it will pop up to secure the contents. It also comes with a tray for accessories for children as well as an adjustable backrest pad for the seat that offer more options than what you usually see on a stroller with a light weight.
It also comes with a canopy that can be shut and opened to ensure that you get the level of sun protection you need. The handlebars are height-adjustable to ensure a comfortable fit in four different positions. However, we weren't thrilled with the quality of its ride on rough terrain. We found that the suspension and wheels didn't do a very good job of absorbing bumps and shocks.
The stroller is great for travel because it comes assembled in the box. It only takes just a few steps to make it ready to use. The seat can be pushed forward and back to adjust the recline. It's a bit flat. Two buttons on the frame make it easy to fold and unfold. It also fits in an easy-to-carry bag when it's not being used. It's actually one of the smallest strollers we tested and it easily meets most airline requirements for gate-checking and cabin storage on airplanes. Just be sure to consult with your airline prior to you fly, because rules can differ. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus
This stroller is a great option for those looking for a stroller that is lightweight for travel. It has all of the features parents look for in a stroller. It comes with all-terrain tires and front suspension for smooth riding. It's also extremely light, at less than 12 pounds. It can be folded in one hand and stand up on its own. It also has a child tray and parent tray each with two cup holders.
Its build quality isn't very good, and it didn't do well in our maneuverability test. It also features a flexible frame which makes pushing it over rough terrain feel like lifting a large weight. It is possible that you use the stroller only on sidewalks that are paved. However, for most people it is not comfortable.
The Cloud Plus features a three-tiered extended canopy that has a peek-aboo window for additional sun protection. Its multi-position seat accommodates children up to 50 pound and features five points of safety restraint. This is a great feature for older toddlers who have outgrown their infant car seats.
It is compact and folds in one step. It can be collapsed by pressing a button. It also comes with a convenient foot-activated break that's easy to create and then release.
The handle is lower than most strollers we've tested, and some parents might be uncomfortable using it for extended periods. The handle locks in place when it's opened. This is a great feature if you plan to use the stroller on uneven or muddy terrain.
3. Munchkin Sparrow
The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the perfect travel stroller for parents who are constantly on the move. This ultra-compact stroller can be folded up and down with ease and fits in the overhead compartments of planes or trunks at amusement parks (no need to worry about parking fees). It comes with a carrying bag which zips up for easy storage. It is able to be used from birth using the infant car seat adapter and offers a good amount of coverage in the sun with its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only drawback is that some parents find the style to be uninspiring and cheap.
The BabyZen Yoyo+ is a little more expensive than other lightweight
single sit and stand stroller strollers however it was made specifically for luxe travel and urban living. It's among the easiest strollers that fold (and comes with a handy carry case) and offers plenty of storage space, including the cup holder. The seat reclines to almost flat for both child and adult. This is the only stroller that can be used by infants using the car seat adapter. The handlebar is not adjustable, and may be a problem for some parents who are taller.
The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the lightest stroller, but it is packed with amazing features that make traveling with children easier. The large seat reclines to a flat position, and it comes with additional padding to make the naps on planes last longer. The canopy that can be extended has plenty of sun-shade, and the parent tray provides plenty of storage. It also comes with an adjustable handle that doubles as a footrest when folded. This footrest, however appears to be prone to damage from baggage handlers.
4. Uppababy Minu V2
Uppababy's Minu V2 is a premium stroller that doesn't compromise on quality and design. Its compact size makes it easy to navigate narrow streets and tight spaces, but its sturdy construction means it can handle rough terrain without compromising your child's comfort. Front and rear spring-action suspension creates an incredibly comfortable ride for both of you, and its durable materials mean that it can withstand the wear and tear of everyday life without losing its shape. It can also be extended to accommodate other accessories such as a bassinet and infant car seat.
In our testing, the Minu was a breeze to fold and move around even with a child in hand. Its squat, almost square fold, which unfolds into thirds, is one of the most simple folds we've seen and allows it to fit in overhead compartments on planes or public transportation. It has a
single pro stroller-action, color-coded brake that is easy to use.
The seat has a multi-position recline and one-handed adjustable leg rest, making it easy to find the ideal position for your child. The UPF 50+ canopy can be lowered quite a ways to shield Cora's face from sun. There is also a medium-sized mesh peek-a-boo window which closes magnetically, and is glued to the canopy, rather than using noisy Velcro.
The Minu weighs just under 15 pounds and comes with an integrated handle for simple transport. It also has a shoulder strap. It can be put in the trunk of your car, and comes with a storage box and Uppababy TravelSafe, which extends the manufacturer's warranty by two years and provides replacements if items are damaged during travel.
5. Joovy Aire
Joovy is an established brand that makes several strollers. This light model is a great choice for parents who are looking for a workhorse stroller that carts kids around, offers ample storage space, is relatively simple to use and doesn't require an engineering degree to fold. This model isn't suitable for those who need an additional stroller or car seat compatible model. It doesn't accept infant car seats. Your baby must be able to sit up on their backs before they can use it.
This stroller has some solid features and an impressive price tag. It was awarded a higher score in our maneuverability review than other models with similar specs, and it's a great choice for smooth paved surfaces. It also has a lovely canopy and plenty of storage including a large tray for parents. The handlebar is a bit smaller than average and the front wheel suspension is a bit stiffer however it's comfortable for adults.
If you have twins or two kids with different ages, you could discover that a stroller with a side-byside feature is the best way to move them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove. It is loaded with features and has a tiny footprint that allows it to fit into places where other side-byside strollers won't.
It features reclining seats that are individually adjustable and a huge canopy with an open window, and plenty of storage. It's heavier than the other side-bysides but it has a reasonable capacity and weight limit. It can carry the majority of children up to 50 pounds. You can even add a bassinet to the front of the stroller to accommodate infants.
If you're looking for a more luxurious version this stroller, the Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is a worthy alternative. It has the same fantastic features and can be fitted out with a bassinet so that you can bring your baby home in style from the hospital.
